    The present investigation had like general objective: To determine if the socioeconomic factors influence in the scholastic yield of the students Educational Unit Portoviejo N ° 25, community Los Angeles, Parish Colón, canton Portoviejo, period 2018, for which a deep bibliographical revision is realized of the two variables: socioeconomic factors, level of life, material resources, context, social, economic, school and political, in the pertinent to the independent variable: academic performance, the characteristics and their difference are pointed out with traditional learning; Throughout the process, the scientific methodology with its inductive and deductive methods was used for its study, which allowed analyzing the incidence of socioeconomic factors on academic performance, which led to the verification of the objectives proposed in the project, by tabulating the surveys applied to teachers, parents and children and students, applied to the sample of the chosen population; arriving at the conclusion that the budget that the families of the students have does not cover their school needs, means that the economic resources of the families of the students are insufficient to cover the basic needs, also expresses that the students of the mentioned educational institution are developed in an inadequate socioeconomic environment, what sociology has called as a sector whose due conditions have become critical, therefore living in a fairly complex socio economic environment.
