    Cognitive development is a field of neuroscience and psychology that studies the development of cognitive abilities such as memory, attention, language, perception, problem solving or intelligence and planning. These capacities involve sophisticated and unique brain functions and involve control processes, such as those used when pursuing a goal and preventing human differences. This work was aimed at developing educational activities to contribute to cognitive development in children of sublevel I of Initial Education of the San José private educational unit, in the Picoazá Parish, Portoviejo, to promote adequate learning aimed at the construction of knowledge and development. of skills. As part of the development of the research that was carried out, theoretical, empirical and mathematical statistical methods were taken into account that allowed diagnosing the problem, as well as the analysis of the theoretical foundations that supported it and a solution proposal was elaborated. As part of the diagnosis, an intentional sample of 16 students, 1 teacher and 3 parents who are part of the Initial Education group, as well as the teacher who is teaching her class at the Initial level, was taken. With an investigative study it was found that there are insufficiencies in the cognitive development of children, significantly in learning, speech, attention and reasoning, all manifested through non-responsible behavior of students within the school institution.
