ItemAlfabetización informacional en las bibliotecas universitarias de Portoviejo(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2019) INTRIAGO MACÍAS, JOE SANTIAGO ; BENAVIDES BAILÓN, JEOVANNY MOISÉSThis study was carried out with the objective of analyzing the level of information Literacy (ALFIN) in the university libraries of Portoviejo, I use the quantitative method, supported by the bibliographic and statistical method, for the Argumentation and collection of information. As a result of the data obtained through a survey, it was determined the knowledge that the university communities have on the informational competencies, thus showing that the students are so trained, for the correct management and use of the Information.

This article presents the results of research on information literacy in students of the Librarianship, Documentation and Archive career at the Universidad Técnica de Manabí (UTM) -Ecuador. The objective is to know the degree of information literacy of the students of the first, second and third semesters of the career. A descriptive study was carried out with a quantitative approach, a documentary research was carried out to analyze the contributions that various researchers have made on the subject. The population that was taken to carry out the article was 303 students. The sample of 110 students was intentionally identified, so a non- probabilistic statistical calculation was performed, since the selection of students corresponds to those who answered the survey. With the results obtained in the research, the high degree (75%) of information literacy of the students of the first, second and third semesters of the UTM library, documentation and archive career is demonstrated.

ItemAlfabetización Informacional para trabajos de titulación de estudiantes de medicina de la Universidad Técnica De Manabí(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2021) SOLÓRZANO SALVATIERRA, LADY LISBETH ; " " ; " "Higher education plays a leading role in the comprehensive training of undergraduate and postgraduate students, a transversal axis is constituted by Information Literacy (ALFIN) that should be considered a primary component within the third level study, because it equips students of competencies that go from the search, retrieval, dissemination of information, applying selective criteria to obtain certified data, at the same time allowing the generation of new knowledge. The objective of the present work was to characterize the Informational Literacy for the degree work of the Medicine students at the Technical University of Manabí, Ecuador, articulating ALFIN programs. The research was quantitative - qualitative, descriptive and exploratory. The documentary information analysis method was used. The results obtained demonstrate the relevance of integrating information literacy in the academic field, because it allows the development of informational and technological skills in a globalized and changing world where information, especially in the medical area, is constantly evolving.

Caso universidad técnica de Manabí(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2022) Delgado Mendoza, Geydi Marcela ; Hernández Intriago, JulioHyper-technified and constantly changing environments require a constant assessment of the librarian's profile, for whom new informational competencies are required to meet the challenges of the new times. These competencies will be decisive in guaranteeing the quality of library services and satisfying the information needs of a user who has acquired new behaviors in the processes of searching, retrieving, evaluating, using and communicating information. The objective of this research is to show the informational competencies possessed by the library staff of the Technical University of Manabí, located in the city of Portoviejo-Ecuador. The sample consisted of five people because the selected institutions only have this number of professional librarians in their libraries. The methodology used is qualitative-quantitative with a descriptive approach. The data collection instrument was the questionnaire, which was adapted from a profile of information competencies for librarians in Andalusian universities. The results show that the participants evaluate their common professional competencies positively; however, the evaluations are less positive in aspects that require a higher degree of complexity, initiative, knowledge and skills in the management of library services and resources.

In this research it is intended diagnose such abilities that students have as graduates to know how to manage the information in the most appropriate way, since the latter must be in the ability to correctly handle the sources of information that it uses and also to develop a model that allows the construction of new ideas that contribute to your vocational training. The methodological foundation was carried out taking into consideration of the descriptive method with a qualitative approach, under the survey technique to later give an analysis to these results. Among the most significant of this research is precisely to show in which way the students make use of the different sources of information. For this reason, one of the conclusions of the This study is focused on recognizing the action plans that the alma mater has put in place march to improve in this regard.

ItemEstrategia de alfabetización informacional desde la biblioteca para estudiantes egresados de la facultad de ingeniería agronómica de la universidad técnica de Manabí(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2022) García Intriago, Andrea Monserrate ; Hernández Intriago, JulioThe objective of the work is the implementation of the Information Literacy Strategy from the library. The scope that it will have within the graduates of the Faculty of Agronomic Engineering of the Technical University of Manabí was considered, in addition, experts from the Ibero-American context were taken as a reference. A descriptive study was followed using the classical documentary analysis method for the bibliographic review and the historical-logical method in the exposition of the authors' criteria. The survey technique applied according to a sample of 74 students who regularly graduated from the library was used to find out their views on media literacy. At the same time, an interview was applied with an intentional sample of 10 graduate students to learn about the management of Information Literacy on the Web. The results obtained emphasize the implementation of the Information Literacy Strategy as a guide to guide advanced searches for information, highlighting the need to create an orientation manual in their searches. The conclusions highlight the feasibility of implementing emerging actions that serve as a guideline for such searches from the easiest to the complex.

Because this disciplinary approach includes a set of skills and abilities to perform tasks related to information is that it constitutes a fundamental strategy to combat the digital divide, defined as the distance between individual, residential, academic and geographical areas at different socio-economic levels in relation to their opportunities to access new information and communication technologies as well as the use of the Internet, which ends up reflecting differences both between different countries or institutions at the local level. In this context, the purpose of this research work is to analyze how information literacy is used as a strategy to address the digital divide; For this, the current conceptions and future prospects are addressed in the Municipal Library Pedro Elio Cevallos Ponce in the period 2022-2023. Based on a qualitative, quantitative and descriptive methodological orientation, this study analyzes and investigates how Information Literacy provides tools to combat the digital divide and can make good use of information, in addition to evaluating and organizing the data to which they have access.
