VALORACIÓN MOTORA PARA DETECTAR INSUFICIENCIA DE CONVERGENCIA EN ESTUDIANTES DE LA ESCUELA DANIEL VILLACRESES DURANTE EL PERÍODO 2019
(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2020) VÁSQUEZ VERGARA, VIELKA JOYCE ; CISNEROS TOALA, JOICE MARÍA ; ÁLVAREZ URIBE, YASMIN
Convergence insufficiency is one of the non-strab dysfunctions of binocular vision 3 in which the eyes tend to deviate outward (exophoria) when performing close-up activities; the symptoms that characterize it are asthenopics. Its classification may be primary, when it occurs due to changes in visual demand at close quarters, lack of sleep or anxiety; and secondary in the case of exophoria / tropia, accommodation problems, paresis or paralysis of the middle rectum, brain injuries or trauma. The present degree work was carried out in order to detect convergence insufficiency by means of a motor evaluation of a sample of 120 children between 6 and 12 years of age from the Daniel Villacreses public school, in the city of Portoviejo., Who met the criteria of inclusion of research. The motor tests that were carried out were the cover test in near vision (40 cm) and in far vision (6 m), near convergence point with real object and light at 40 cm, and positive and negative fusional reserves (40 cm and 6 m). Additionally, a survey was conducted with these students to find out if they had symptoms of this non- strabic binocular dysfunction associated with their close tasks. Through the cover test, near convergence point, positive and negative fusional reserves, it was possible to determine that 46% of the sample did not present any motor problem, while 30% suffered from insufficient convergence and finally 24% reflected having excess of divergence. 48% of the surveyed students did not present symptoms of convergence insufficiency, but there were percentages that justified it, since 17% have loss of concentration, 20% sleep and 15% headaches.

TAMIZAJE VISUAL A PACIENTES DIABÉTICOS EN EL MEDICAL PLAZA DE PORTOVIEJO, ECUADOR
(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2020) RODRIGUEZ MERA, JOSÉ ANTONIO ; ZAMBRANO SOLÓRZANO, MIRKA CELESTE ; DURÁN OSPINA, PATRICIA
Objective: Perform a visual screening of diabetic patients in the Medical Plaza health center in Portoviejo. Methodology: The execution of this work was carried out by the Medical Plaza center. The initial stage was developed with the review of the patient's general medical history and the signature of informed consent; instrument validated and modified from the guide of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador for the application in patients, to which questions regarding alterations related to ocular assessment were added and subsequently visual screening was performed using optical instruments such as; visual acuity and ophthalmoscope optotype; in order to obtain the results visually. It is important to mention that this assessment did not require invasive methods for the patient. Results: Of the 90 patients assessed, 17.8% were determined with RD, of which 13.3% claimed to have been diagnosed with RD. While 4.5% were selected with presumptive diagnosis. In 2017, a study carried out in Chile showed that 24.6% of people with diabetes suffer from RD. Conclusion: The rate of diabetic retinopathy has increased considerably in recent years although it is an avoidable disease. Assuming that the appearance of this pathology is mostly due to the lack of visual education. The benefit of a visual screening aimed at diabetic patients would mean the reduction of blindness and the development of other diseases such as macular edema, maculopathy and cataracts.

VALORACIÓN DE LA RESPUESTA ACOMODATIVA EN ESTUDIANTES DE LA ESCUELA DE EDUCACIÓN BÁSICA PORTOVIEJO No25
(Universidad Ténica de Manabí, 2019) CEVALLOS MOREIRA, SILVIA LORENA ; GARCÍA OSTAIZA, GEMA MARCELA ; ÁLVAREZ URIBE, YASMIN
This work was carried out as part of a population study that allows its o know the accommodative state in school patients aged 5 to 19 years. The accommodation is the mechanism by which the power of convergence of the eye increases to see clearly at a nearby point, when there are variations in it the accommodative anomalies occur, such as; inadequacies of accommodation, excess of accommodation, accommodative spasm, accommodation paralysis and accommodative inertia. A group of students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria for conducting the research was evaluated, obtaining accommodation Lag values using the objective method of Nott retinoscopy. The normal range of the Accommodation Lag is between 0.25 D to 0.75 D with an average value of 0.50 D. The students evaluated presented a range below the average value of the accommodation between the ages of 13 and 15 years, and above this value in ages 11 to 12 years. This is due to the fact that most of the day the students carry out activities in near vision, taking into account the student day that is 5 hours a day in the Educational Institution and the tasks sent home, in addition to the use of electronic devices that require I work in close vision.

VALORACIÓN DE LA FUNCIÓN VISUAL EN LOS ESTUDIANTES DE LA ESCUELA DE CONDUCCIÓN SPORTMANCAR DE LA PROVINCIA DE MANABÍ
(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2019) GARCÍA BURGOS, BRYAN GUISSEPPE ; GARCÍA VALENCIA, FERNANDO VOLTAIRE ; SOLANO GALARZA, MIGUEL ÁNGEL
Visual function assessments are a set of tests or tests that are performed to assess the overall state of a person's vision. Several of the tests used to perform such assessments are: visual acuity, color vision, contrast sensitivity, stereopsis, ophthalmoscopy, among others. Adequate visual health is essential when driving on the road, which is why a proper assessment must be guaranteed for applicants for a driver's license. Due to the importance of the subject, the present investigation is carried out with the objective of assessing the visual function of the students at the Sportmancar driving school in the province of Manabí. For this, a diagnostic-propositive, prospective and cross-sectional study was carried out. This research also aims to provide relevant data to the area of optometry and general statistics on visual health, therefore, a sample of 100 students from said driving school is chosen in which it was observed that most of them are young students between 18 and 29 years of age, with a greater predominance of the male gender by 64%. Taking into account the suggested treatment, it was concluded that most of the students in 71% of the Sportmancar driving school have an optimal visual function status, while based on the same statistic, a considerable group 29% suffer from some refractive defect, certain deviation or pathological problem, which have not been treated or corrected prior to obtaining permits for a driver's license.

SOFTWARE CLÍNICO- ADMINISTRATIVO PARA CENTROS DE SALUD VISUAL IMPLEMENTANDO UN SCANNER BIOMÉTRICO DE ROSTRO
(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2019) DELGADO VERA, DIEGO ANDRÉS ; SANCHEZ ZAMBRANO, ERME NABOR ; OSPINA DURÁN, PATRICIA
In this work, a software was designed for the administrative and clinical part of the visual health centers which will have a biometric face scanner based on artificial intelligence, guiding us in the needs and requirements of the simulation clinic of the Technical University of Manabí and in some visual health centers. Developed under the methodology of Design Thinking and Electronical Health Records to provide the professional with access to the system and easier and easier to learn, the programming languages that were used for the development of clinical-administrative software were Php, Python and JavaScript and the Django framework programming language was used for Artificial Intelligence. It has a high quality graphical interface that will allow you to have a higher resolution when registering patient data before, during and after care. Facial recognition will not compromise the privacy of any patient as it will be only and exclusively for the registration of clinical data, in addition to the patient being protected by Habeas Data law. A survey of the owners of several visual health centers was carried out to identify their needs and, together with this, the software could be modified according to their requirements.
