Abstract

The present thesis work prior to obtaining the title of Veterinary Doctor and Zootechnician, is carried out with the aim of providing technical advice on the acquisition, installation and operation of a balanced feed pelletizing machine for the aquaculture center of experimental area # 2 of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. The place where the work is carried out was on the premises of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Zootechnics, of the Technical University of Manabí, Lodana extension, in Experimental Area # 2 under the methodology of community work thesis, which, it is expected make it an important contribution to the university community and the community in general. With this pelletizing machine, pelletized feed can be provided to different aquaculture species, especially Arapaimas gigas, this in order to provide them with an optimal diet to maintain the quality of life of this species in an adequate way. In turn, the pelletized food can be used for other species, as there are two different matrices with which the diameter of the food can be adjusted and in addition to this, the length of the pellets can be adjusted. For the proper operation of the machine and to extend its useful life, it is recommended to follow the guidelines set out in the user manual, created during the work in order to avoid damages due to incorrect use, both for the integrity of the operators, the production quality of the pellets and the useful life of the machinery. In addition to this, it should be mentioned that community work is of great help for the development and continuous growth of the faculty and the creation of new areas in it where later students can do internships and optimally develop their knowledge and skills in related topics.
