    The present study aims to analyze information technologies and their incidence in the training of professionals in the Career of Library and Information Sciences of the Technical University of Manabí, Portoviejo, province of Manabí, Republic of Ecuador; For which it became necessary to define in depth the theme presented, which shows the transformation of the role of teachers facing the needs of students in this new era of educational revolution and the sociocultural implications that drive these technological changes within competitiveness Labor and the needs of society. As a methodology, a descriptive study was applied, using the method of documentary analysis for the bibliographic review and exposition of the theories that substantiated the variables of the subject under study. As a result, it was possible to answer the questions that gave rise to this investigative process, concluding that in the biotechnology career there are still deficiencies, mainly in the use of teaching - learning strategies; As well as in the training of teachers to carry out their duties and make use of information technologies in the development of their academic activities. The obtaining of the information is reliable, because it allows to this center of studies, to take the decisions directed to be strengthened institutionally like educational entity, taking into account the technologies of information and communication based on the essential paper that must be developed in the formation of the professionals.
