    One of the main ways to measure editorial, local or national production is the study of publications made in paper or electronic media, as a way to verify the contributions given to different areas of science. This evaluation allowed to carry out the present work that had as objective to analyze the editorial production in the province of Manabí, through the description of the activity based on a methodology based on the content industry model. The methodology is descriptive, for the theoretical bases was considered the method of documentary analysis to the literature written by experts in the thematic and the historical - logical method for the organization of ideas that helped the study of the aspects that lead to a Conceptual approach to establish a relationship with the annual behavior of scientific production and thus highlight the contribution to the sciences through research. Conclusions are made highlighting the feasibility of having a document that helps to raise awareness about the importance of producing knowledge and create the necessary records that include the publishing houses produced in the province of Manabí, noting that editorial production is below the existing human potential. These results point to the creation of strategies that allow the editorial production, has the relevance of keeping their records and patents in an organized way, so that future researchers can make use of the contents typified in the different types of texts.
