ItemEstrategias para fomentar el hábito lector durante la pandemia en los niños de preescolar de la parroquia simón bolívar de Portoviejo, Manabí(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2021) Menéndez Macías, Gladys Lisbeth ; Pin Posligua, Jean Pierre ; Benavides, JeovannyIn the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the content of various disciplines has had to be rethought to strengthen students' skills. In the field of pre-school education, one of these aspects relates to the reading habits of students. Therefore, based on a qualitative and quantitative methodological approach, strategies to promote this habit during the pandemic in pre-school children were analyzed, such as sharing experiences and knowledge, communicating feedback from activities, perform interactive games with children and the development of tasks and activities with their timely assessment and in an entertaining way. In particular, the students of the Lorenzo Luzuriaga Educational Unit of the Simón Bolívar parish of Portoviejo, Manabí, have been considered as objects of study in this research. A survey of the teachers and parents of this institution investigated this problem. In addition, the reading process was characterized by an emphasis on play, in the development of activities that combine entertainment with learning and the encouragement of creativity of students. This led to the identification of the main virtual strategies based on new technologies to promote reading in pre-school in times of pandemic.

Because this disciplinary approach includes a set of skills and abilities to perform tasks related to information is that it constitutes a fundamental strategy to combat the digital divide, defined as the distance between individual, residential, academic and geographical areas at different socio-economic levels in relation to their opportunities to access new information and communication technologies as well as the use of the Internet, which ends up reflecting differences both between different countries or institutions at the local level. In this context, the purpose of this research work is to analyze how information literacy is used as a strategy to address the digital divide; For this, the current conceptions and future prospects are addressed in the Municipal Library Pedro Elio Cevallos Ponce in the period 2022-2023. Based on a qualitative, quantitative and descriptive methodological orientation, this study analyzes and investigates how Information Literacy provides tools to combat the digital divide and can make good use of information, in addition to evaluating and organizing the data to which they have access.

ItemLa biblioteca digital en el proceso de titulación en los estudiantes de la carrera de bibliotecología en la universidad técnica de Manabí(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2021) Intriago Cedeño, Bryan Geovanny ; Benavides, JeovannyThe Digital Library is a free and open electronic resource on the Internet that provides interactive access to users. When talking about a digital library it is necessary that the sources of information are available in some way and are easily accessible, that is, it does not matter where they physically reside or who was specifically responsible for their processing and storage, this information is available. The concept of library as a space and as a process predominates, so it is a concept that reflects the dynamism of the internet. The virtual is the flexibility of the system and the attraction it has towards the user. In this context, the purpose of this research paper is to analyze the role that the digital library has played in the qualification process in the students of the Career in Library Science at the Technical University of Manabí. To achieve its purpose, the present work employed a qualitative and quantitative mixed research methodology, since it analyzes the way in which graduates of this career have used the digital library. In addition, a bibliographical approach to document review addresses the sources of information concerning the main approaches of this subject. This methodological component is complemented by a survey of 58 students in the Library Science Course. The results are expected to show the usefulness of the digital library in its titling process.

ItemLa teoría y técnica bibliográfica en el proceso de investigación científica de los estudiantes de la carrera de bibliotecología de la UTM, 2021(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2022) Rodríguez Cevallos, John Josué ; Benavides, JeovannyThe disciplinary approach of Bibliographic Theory and Technique aims to analyze the development of the bibliography from various historical and social aspects, as well as reviewing the main features surrounding the methods and techniques used for the development and systematization of bibliographies using various tools in the collection of information. In this context, the study presented below aims to determine the way in which the Bibliographic Theory and Technique is constituted in a relevant discipline in the process of scientific research of students of the Career of Librarianship of the UTM during the May-September 2021. To achieve its purpose, the present paper employed a qualitative and quantitative mixed research methodology, since it analyzes different disciplinary components of Bibliographic Theory and Technique in their practical application in the training process of students University of Manabí. In addition, a bibliographical approach to document review addresses the sources of information concerning the main approaches of this subject. This methodological component is complemented by a survey that was conducted on the 70 students of the Library Science Career of the Technical University of Manabí who studied this discipline in the period in question. It is expected that the results show the contribution that the Theory and Bibliographic Technique subject offers in the academic formation of the students of the Career of Library Science of the Technical University of Manabí. In addition, it is intended to identify the competencies that this discipline promotes.

ItemLas necesidades de información de los usuarios de la biblioteca Alejandro Muñoz Dávila de la UTM en el contexto de la pandemia por covid-19, 2021(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2022) Moreira Moreira, Rosa Monserrate ; Benavides, JeovannyThe information needs are the lack of knowledge and information about a phenomenon, object, event, action or fact that a person has, produced by external and internal factors that cause a state of dissatisfaction. In this context, this academic work aims to analyze the way in which users of the Alejandro Muñoz Dávila Library of the Technical University of Manabí have modified their procedures for access to information in the wake of the pandemic caused by the Covid-19. From a quantitative and qualitative methodological perspective, this study analyzes the diverse information needs that users of the Alejandro Muñoz Dávila Library of the Technical University of Manabí have had in the January- January semester January-June 2021, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, a literature review approach addresses the sources of information concerning the main trends in information needs, consulting various articles previously published in books, theses and indexed and specialized journals related to this research. This is complemented by a user survey and an interview with the director of the Alejandro Muñoz Dávila Library of the Technical University of Manabí. As a result, it is intended to identify the management strategies that have been used in this documentary centre to meet information needs during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Finally, it is concluded that libraries in times of pandemic, such as the one under study, play an extremely valuable role because they have the mission of providing the university community with quality information resources and services, with efficiency, timeliness and technological reliability.
