    EL DIVORCIO Y EL DESARROLLO EMOCIONAL DE NIÑOS Y NIÑAS DE LA CIUDADELA JAIME ROLDOS DEL CANTÓN JUNÍN.

    Divorce represents a psychosocial problem due to the importance of the family in society, as the nucleus of it is considered. The definition of Sánchez, (2010) can be considered, which states: “Divorce is the dissolution of the marriage bond, since for various reasons, they consider it necessary to end their relationship. Most parents consider that the decisions they make do not harm their children ”(p.28). However, divorce affects the normal functioning of the family system by causing changes and irregularities that generate discomfort in family members and especially cause alterations in the emotional development of children, who lose close contact with one of their parents. Therefore, the affective part remains incomplete, demanding deficiencies in this area on the part of the children, who are forced to assume different roles to supplant certain gaps within the family system. It is necessary to work on self-esteem and adaptation in those children who suffer this change that will demand new forms of behavior in relation to various scenarios. This conflict leads to problematic behaviors on the part of the children, emotionally they can present anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress among other factors, since in the face of a relevant situation such as divorce, the initial responses on the part of those affected can block them and damage their affective, emotional and academic performance. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to these issues that are currently present, to make adequate evaluations and to be able to help in case of an adaptation problem, first knowing the theories that explain the behaviors caused by divorce. This research used the inductive, deductive and analytical methods through the survey technique, for this process a population of 200 families from the Jaime Roldós Citadel of Junín Canton and a sample of 30 parents were taken into consideration. and / or caregivers and 30 children. The application questionnaire for the survey was carried out by the authors of the research, to give direction to the work in relation to the determined variables.
