ItemPACIENTES PEDIÁTRICOS CON DISCAPACIDAD DEL CENTRO ESPECIALIZADO DE REHABILITACIÓN INTEGRAL Y LA SALUD MENTAL DE LOS CUIDADORES INFORMALES, PERÍODO ENERO - ABRIL 2019.(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2020) ALAVA CASANOVA, GEMA MONSERRATE ; MONSERRATE LOOR, JENNIFFER XIOMARA ; RODRIGUEZ ALAVA, LEONOR ALEXANDRAPeople who care for children with disabilities of various kinds, called informal caregivers, suffer from an overload that affects the state of well-being both physically and psychologically. An exploratory qualitative-quantitative study is presented, which aims to determine the incidence of pediatric patients disability of the Specialized Center for Integral Rehabilitation in the mental health of informal caregivers, period January - April 2019. The study was conducted to 88 informal caregivers of pediatric patients, to whom the 28-item version of the Goldberg General Health questionnaire (GHQ-28) was applied, which is divided into four subscales: A-somatic symptoms, B-anxiety and insomnia, C-social dysfunction and D-depression. The general results show that 60% of this population presents a risk of alteration in their mental health, according to the questionnaire the specific subscale of greatest involvement is somatic symptoms, especially manifested with headaches, an aspect that is related to the area of anxiety in insomnia that also shows a risk of involvement; however, it does not complete a level of severe depression. Through the semi-structured interview applied to professionals of the Center's it was found that the basic areas of life that are affected in caregivers are economic, health, professional, social, family and couples. Among the actions that the Center carries out to promote mental health in informal caregivers are craft workshops, psychoeducation workshops and sports activities.
