dc.description The current study is based around the pilot plant of the Industrial Engineering Career of the Technical University of Manabí, supported in this the design of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System is carried out. Today, the importance of industrial safety and occupational health in all sectors of production and / or service delivery is noteworthy. The management, regulation and application of all elements of it is essential to improve working conditions, optimize processes, reduce the number of unsafe acts, raise awareness of the risks to which they are exposed in the Develop their activities and investigate the causes that originate them. The present work proposes the design of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System under the Ohsas 18001 standard in the pilot plant of the Industrial Engineering Career, research that can be replicated in similar institutions. In the development of the research the theoretical foundations are presented and the process of implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System is described and all the terminology, criteria and operations that tolerate this process and that will be used throughout the study. In the sample of the study it was possible to determine that at present the people who carry out activities in the pilot plant possess a minimum level of knowledge in the matter of Occupational Safety and Health. With the realization of workshops on risk prevention and training, it will be possible to adopt a wide variety of preventive measures to avoid the occurrence of occupational diseases, and incidents in the workplace, complying with the general purpose of the management system, preserving health and Well-being of the man in relation to the work and the environment that surrounds it. The implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System allows us to carry out, in a planned and organized way, the identification, measurement, evaluation and control of unsafe conditions and acts. es_ES
dc.description.abstract El actual estudio está basado en torno a la planta piloto de la Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial de la universidad Técnica de Manabí, apoyado en esto se realiza el diseño de un Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional. Hoy en día es notable la importancia que se le tiene al campo de la seguridad industrial y la salud ocupacional en todos los sectores productivos y/o de prestación de servicio. La gestión, la regulación y la aplicación de todos los elementos de la misma se hace imprescindible para mejorar las condiciones de trabajo, optimizar los procesos, disminuir el número de actos inseguros, concientizar a las personas de los riesgos a los que están expuestos en el desarrollo de sus actividades e investigar las causas que los originan. El presente trabajo propone el diseño de un sistema de gestión de seguridad y salud ocupacional bajo la norma Ohsas 18001 en la planta piloto de la Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, investigación que podrá replicarse en instituciones similares. En el desarrollo de la investigación se presentan los fundamentos teóricos y se describe el proceso de implementación de un sistema de gestión de seguridad y salud ocupacional y toda la terminología, criterios y operaciones que tolera este proceso y que se emplearan a lo largo del estudio. En la muestra del estudio se pudo determinar que en la actualidad las personas que realizan actividades en la planta piloto poseen un nivel mínimo de conocimientos en materia de la seguridad y salud ocupacional. Con realización de talleres de prevención de riesgos y capacitaciones permitirá adoptar una gran variedad de medidas preventivas que evitaran que se produzcan enfermedades de índole laboral, e incidentes en los puestos de trabajo cumpliendo con el propósito general del sistema de gestión, preservar la salud y el bienestar del hombre con relación al trabajo y el ambiente que lo rodea. La implementación de un sistema de gestión de seguridad y salud ocupacional, nos permite llevar a cabo de una manera planificada y organizada la identificación, medición, evaluación y control de condiciones y actos inseguros. es_ES
