EL ROL DOCENTE Y SU INFLUENCIA EN LA INCLUSIÓN DE NIÑOS Y NIÑAS CON EL TRASTORNO DE ESPECTRO AUTISTA EN LAS INSTITUCIONES EDUCATIVAS DEL CANTÓN PORTOVIEJO.

Abstract

This research work was aimed, to determine the influence that has the teaching role in the inclusion of children with ASD in the educational institutions of the canton Portoviejo. Due to lack of knowledge that exists on the subject, is exposed a conceptual approximation of the definitions comprising this theme, such as the definitions of autism spectrum disorder, the role of the teacher of students with ASD, inclusion and the strategies to integrate children with autism in regular education. A research of qualitative-quantitative, descriptive, exploratory nature, documentary and field was proposed in order to obtain information about the strategies that are used in the process of teaching and learning of children with ASD, as well as also set the level of knowledge that have teachers who work with this type of population. It conducted semi-structured type interviews aimed at 25 teachers who are in their classrooms for children with ASD and surveys aimed at 110 teachers belonging to 14 educational institutions of the canton Portoviejo. The data are useful to reflect on the educational inclusion of children with ASD.
