LA DESERCIÓN ACADÉMICA DE LOS ESTUDIANTES DE LA CARRERA DE SECRETARIADO EJECUTIVO DE LA COHORTE ABRIL – AGOSTO 2011 A ABRIL AGOSTO 2017

Abstract

Student desertion, as has already been pointed out, is one of the main problems faced by higher education institutions throughout all continents and not only in Ecuador. The objective of this study was to analyze the academic dropout of students from the Executive Secretary taking as a period from April-August 2011 to April-August 2017. This being one of the causes of concern to IESs, as the personal, family, social, political, and labor consequences affect the development of societies. A quantitative research was applied, with the descriptive methodology, based on an analytical study, the school dropout approached from the individualization of the problem as the personal decision in the face of economic, labor, psychological pressures, make a different approach on the sustained increase in university desertion, remarkably identified as an indicator of a problem of deep social crisis in the evaluation of education. The actions undertaken by the bodies responsible for Higher Education have been many, but the results have not been any, this has implied that the legal, formative, propositive and institutional structures are reviewed to rethink the procedures that allow at least to reduce the university dropout rates.
