Abstract
Este trabajo de titulación presentado es una investigación dedicada a replantear la utilización de los escombros generados luego de la catástrofe causada por el terremoto 16 A Ecuador.
El terremoto devastador de 7,8 grados en la escala de Richter que tuvo una intensidad de Mercalli de 8 en la ciudad de Portoviejo significó una destrucción masiva de edificios. Medios de re utilización son concebidos e implementados constantemente ante esta problemática y es posible la importación de estos sistemas para utilizar los escombros resultados de la catástrofe.
Se estudió la posibilidad de utilizar los escombros como material de sub-base para estructuras viales de pavimento asfáltico realizando los ensayos a los materiales en concordancia con las normas NEVI-12-MTOP.
