ItemDETERMINACIÓN DE LA RESPUESTA ACOMODATIVA EN PACIENTES ESCOLARES DE LA UNIDAD EDUCATIVA MATHIUS QUINTANILLA SIERRA, PORTOVIEJO(Universidad Ténica de Manabí, 2018) VALENCIA VERA, JENIFFER ANNABEL ; PEREZ CEME, MARIA FERNANDA ; ÁLVAREZ URIBE, YASMINThis work was carried out to show that the study of ocular accommodation is classically defined as the process by which an increase in the refractive power of the eye is produced due to the modification of the crystalline form, increasing the curvature of the eye front and back face of it. The accommodation mechanism is triggered as a result of a retinal blur when trying to focus on a nearby object. First causing the contraction of the Ciliary muscle that pushes the ciliary processes and relaxes the fibers of Zinn's zonule, relaxing the tension maintained on the lens and increasing both sides of dioptric power with the objective that the ray of light reach the retina. Because there are no studies in our population that determine the value of the accommodative response, a group of students with visual acuity 0 LogMAR was evaluated in their living conditions of life to determine that accommodative response using the objective method considered more accurate as it is the retinoscopy of Nott. As well as determine the hours of use of your near vision to determine if there is a relationship between the accommodative response, and the use of near vision.

ItemVALORACIÓN DE LA RESPUESTA ACOMODATIVA EN ESTUDIANTES DE LA ESCUELA DE EDUCACIÓN BÁSICA PORTOVIEJO No25(Universidad Ténica de Manabí, 2019) CEVALLOS MOREIRA, SILVIA LORENA ; GARCÍA OSTAIZA, GEMA MARCELA ; ÁLVAREZ URIBE, YASMINThis work was carried out as part of a population study that allows its o know the accommodative state in school patients aged 5 to 19 years. The accommodation is the mechanism by which the power of convergence of the eye increases to see clearly at a nearby point, when there are variations in it the accommodative anomalies occur, such as; inadequacies of accommodation, excess of accommodation, accommodative spasm, accommodation paralysis and accommodative inertia. A group of students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria for conducting the research was evaluated, obtaining accommodation Lag values using the objective method of Nott retinoscopy. The normal range of the Accommodation Lag is between 0.25 D to 0.75 D with an average value of 0.50 D. The students evaluated presented a range below the average value of the accommodation between the ages of 13 and 15 years, and above this value in ages 11 to 12 years. This is due to the fact that most of the day the students carry out activities in near vision, taking into account the student day that is 5 hours a day in the Educational Institution and the tasks sent home, in addition to the use of electronic devices that require I work in close vision.
