ItemTAMIZAJE PARA LA DETECCIÓN DE BAJA VISIÓN ASOCIADO A DISTROFIAS CORNEALES EN LA CIUDADELA SAN ALEJO, PORTOVIEJO(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2018) GUERRERO VALLE, YADIRA LICETH ; VARAS RODRÍGUEZ, PAMELA CRISTINA ; SOLANO GALARZA, MIGUEL ANGELThe study conducted in the town of San Alejo obtained a total of 150 people evaluated with a predominantly female population over 40 years of age and half of it with pathologies, the most frequent pathologies were pterygium, bacterial conjunctivitis and waterfall; In addition to the refractive errors that most people present and being the predominant population over 40 years the most common refractive error in presbyopia. The population involved is educated for the care that all citizens should have in their eyes and the inclusion that low-vision people in the community should have. The assessment of people with low vision indicates that in this population the pathologies causing low vision are glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and corneal dystrophy affecting the quality of life of the people evaluated. By applying a questionnaire we can observe the complications they have in their daily life, the feelings and the performance they do to carry out their activities. Corneal dystrophy is not more than an opacity in one of the layers of the cornea, the corneal dystrophy is the most frequent and they present in a family of the population of San Alejo to be more precise of the pathology presented congenital stromal corneal dystrophy since they were born with this opacity. The applied therapy in these people was successful both in distant distance and close distance; the latter having more complications since before to be able to read they had to approach the text and now with the optical aids they do not have the need to approach.
