ItemESTRATEGIA EDUCATIVA SOBRE PREVENCIÓN DE CHIKUNGUNYA. CIUDADELA LUIS BUSTAMANTE, JIPIJAPA(Universidad Técnica de Manbí, 2022) MACIAS MIELES, CERELA MICAELA ; GARCÍA SANTILLÁN, KAREN NICOLE ; MACÍAS FERREIRO, KARINAThis community development degree work fulfilled the objective of applying an educational strategy on Chikungunya prevention in the adult population of the Luis Bustamante town of the Jipijapa canton in the period April - August 2021. Chikungunya is a vector-borne disease produced by an arbovirus of the Togaviridae family, genus Alphavirus, which is transmitted through the bites of mosquito vectors Aedes aegypti and Ae. Albopictus. For this reason, an educational strategy was implemented to prevent and control the incidence of vector-borne diseases in the community. Therefore, the population participating in the project corresponds to a group of 20 people, distributed in six families that are the most vulnerable to the contagion of this disease because they live near the Jipijapa River. The methodology exposed for this research was given through the key informant, the community leader who contributed to the diagnosis of problems within the community, which allowed them to be prioritized through the ranking method, so the intervention plan was executed. According to the results obtained from the educational strategy for the prevention of Chikungunya, 98% of the trained users proposed to apply preventive measures, encouraging participation in activities and behaviors that favor the conservation of both personal and environmental health.
