ItemRELACIÓN ENTRE MARCADORES SANGUÍNEOS Y GRAVEDAD DE LOS PACIENTES CON DIAGNÓSTICO DE COVID-19. HOSPITAL GENERAL DE MANTA(Universidad técnica de Manabí, 2021) ALAVA VILLAMAR, JEAN CARLOS ; FRANCO CUNALATA, DERLY ELIZABETH ; HOWLAND ÁLVAREZ, IVONThere are several molecules in the blood that are currently used as serum markers which help determine the severity and prognosis of COVID-19. Among these markers are: progressive elevation of the levels of neutrophils, ferritin and myocardial creatine phosphokinase in the blood, D-dimer values, increased prothrombin time and thrombocytopenia, quantification of lactate dehydrogenase, measurement of C-reactive protein, lymphopenia, elevation of IL-6; as well as the measurement of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and creatinine. The overall objective of this research was to establish the relationship between blood markers and severity of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 at Manta General Hospital. An observational, descriptive research has been made, with a retrospective and cross-sectional approach, carried out by analyzing the clinical records of patients with COVID-19 classified in some degree of severity at Manta General Hospital, from January to March 2021, establishing a sample of 33 patients. In this work, the male gender predominated and there was no statistical difference of genders between recovered and deceased patients, the average age was 60 years. Smoking and diabetes were the most important pathological antecedents in deceased patients and for the clinical conditions, co-infections were the ones that stood out. All the patients who were in a very serious stage of the disease, died. In the tests performed on patients at discharge, those that were altered were neutrophil count, D-dimer, C-reactive protein, and glucose
