The aim of this research is to determine the influence of work stress on the emotional exhaustion of older adult caregivers in the San Juan community of Canton Junin. In this way, descriptive, explanatory research was carried out, using descriptive-analytical methods and the relevant bibliographic search. In addition, a mixed approach was used because of the techniques used such as the survey. The Zarit Scale, the More questionnaire that gave support to the problem presented, resulting in the occupational stress first manifested in the carers by symptoms such as fatigue, fatigue, sleep disturbances and irritability, these are developed by the demand for demands that the caregiver must make throughout the day. Likewise, the presence of work stress generates or gives way to emotional exhaustion which is a state accompanied mainly by fatigue and lack of motivation, which in principle can change from perceived, but with the passage of time, its impact on intensity increases, which generates on the individual the impossibility of developing optimally in the realization of their activities
