The techniques used to obtain the information were the observation, the interview and the questionnaire of questions for the survey, whose results allowed to reach relevant conclusions as: that the professional profile of the career of Clinical Psychology of the Technical University of Manabí is According to a large percentage of the competences required by employers in the Portoviejo city, as a mechanism for labor insertion there is the department of monitoring graduates; However, it is denoted that there are no strategic lines for effective employability and in the training processes only the pre-professional practices and the link with society that are minimal activities are evident as an approach to the world of work and it is not possible to develop in its entirety The skills and skills that employers require. dc.description.abstract El proceso de inserción laboral de los universitarios es tan, o más, interesante que la descripción de la situación laboral en un momento determinado de la vida. El objetivo de esta investigación es caracterizar el perfil profesional para la inserción laboral de los egresados de Psicología Clínica, en el área de la salud del cantón Portoviejo, para su desarrollo se aplicó una metodología descriptiva, apoyada en los métodos analíticos, inductivo y deductivo apoyada en bibliografía actualizada, documentos electrónicos y nuevas tecnologías de información y comunicación. Las técnicas utilizadas para la obtención de la información fue la entrevista y el cuestionario de preguntas para la encuesta, cuyos resultados permitieron llegar a conclusiones relevantes como: que el perfil profesional de la carrera de Psicología Clínica de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí es acorde en un gran porcentaje a las competencias requeridas por los empleadores del cantón Portoviejo; sin embargo, se denota que no existen líneas estratégicas para la efectiva empleabilidad y en los procesos de formación solo se evidencia como acercamiento al mundo laboral las prácticas pre profesionales y la vinculación con la sociedad que son actividades mínimas y no se logra desarrollar en su totalidad las habilidades y destrezas. Con esta investigación se pretende aportar a la carrera de Psicología Clínica de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí, sobre las competencias profesionales, el perfil profesional solicitados dentro de establecimientos de salud de segundo y tercer nivel del cantón Portoviejo. es_ES
