dc.description.abstract n the Junín canton, an investigation was carried out in order to establish the current situation of 35 associated cattle farms in which the cattle farms in the area operate. For them, the survey mechanism applied to the 35 herds, distributed in the different areas of the canton, was used. Once these data were obtained, the surveys were carried out personally to each farmer, to later perform the data tabulation and results were obtained on the different aspects that are being considered. Analyzing the results of the survey, we find that in the surveyed herds of the Junín canton it is intended: that 68.57% do not carry out genetic improvement. That 60% of the breeders select their breeder according to their body condition, and that 45.72% of those surveyed, if they select breeders. 42.86% do not know the consequences that would cause their livestock to carry out this type of cross between animals that are relatives. The percentage of herds belonging to the canton is 45.71% is Mestizo, of the associated herds 57.14% of the surveyed ranchers do not keep a record, 85.71% of those surveyed have never performed insemination on their cattle. 8.57% perform heat synchronization with the Ovsynch protocol. That 14.29% of those surveyed do artificial insemination of detected heat. 34.29% the cowboy detects the cattle in estrus; While with 42.86% the rancher and the cowboy detect estrus due to the mounting of the females between them, it was determined that 85.71% of the ranchers use natural riding as a technique. 57.14% do not use any treatment for the Anestrus; 68.57% did not present problems in delivery. 42.86% of farmers who have a calving interval of 11 to 12 months. The diseases against which the vaccine is used are detailed below: against brucellosis 54.29%; 4 4 with 25.71% all the previous ones that include (Brucellosis, Leptopirosis, DVB, Trichomoniasis). That the months of the year in which their reproducers are most pregnant are the following; with 31.43% corresponds to the month of January to March, the months of July to September with 31.43%. With 20% they claim to have had a twin birth within their livestock, once a year. Farmers vaccinate their animals at 3 - 12 months of age, which represents 45.71%. The interviewed ranchers maintain that 40% of their cattle have rarely aborted due to reproductive disease; while with 60% they affirmed that they have never aborted. Most cattle enter their first service at 18 months with 65.71%. It indicates that 77.15% have never carried out blood tests to check the presence of reproductive diseases; 51.43% have never performed a gynecological examination on their pregnant cows. 57.14% of the farmers who register cows with reproductive disease send them to the slaughterhouse. 51.43% affirmed that they take into account the weight of the cows before reaching the first service. 85.71% have a total ignorance about the embryo transfer in bovines. The most important problems that farmers have are: - Lack of technical assistance. By government authorities or delegate of MAGAP. - High cost of Veterinary supplies and therefore labor. - Low price of its products such as milk and derivatives; and meat. It is necessary to implement and link a technical assistance program by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics towards this sector and several of the Province, through talks, seminars. es_ES
