Abstract

The present investigation raises the subject of the comprehensive reading and the development of the cognitive reasoning of the students of the school Carlos Enríquez Parrales, of the city of New Portoviejo, for which the objectives were established: To determine the level of reading comprehension that students have Of the school Carlos Enríquez Parrales, Identify the methodological strategies applied by the teacher for the cognitive development of students, Establish the relationship between comprehensive reading and cognitive development in students, Analyze the participation of legal representatives in comprehensive reading and cognitive development Of their children. Designing and implementing the teacher's guide to strengthen students' cognitive development, the scientific methodology with its inductive and deductive methods was used to study the causes of the insufficient development of reading skills in the students, Through the tabulation of the surveys applied to the parents, students, applied to the sample of the selected population, concluding that students have difficulties in developing the ability of reading comprehension, teachers apply procedure Traditional and parents do not contribute effectively to developing reading habits in their children; So it is proposed totrain teachers on active techniques for reading comprehension.
