Abstract

The degree work was aimed at implementing and advising on the management of anesthesia machines and multiparameter monitor at the Dr. Gabriel Manzo Quiñónez Veterinary Clinic of the Technical University of Manabí, between the months of August 2019 and January 2020, with the purpose to equip the surgery area with appropriate devices for handling and safety provided to patients by those in charge of the surgical activity. To execute the project, surveys were carried out in the Veterinary Clinic on the knowledge of the devices to be implemented that have been required in the area of surgery, then activities such as requesting proformas, meetings with suppliers of the necessary equipment for this work such as the Inhalation anesthesia machine, multiparameter monitor with capnograph and visual stethoscope. Tests were carried out to verify the operation of the equipment through 3 different canine surgeries. Finally, with the purpose of having the necessary equipment for the work of qualification, as well as for the next performance of the surgeries offered in the Veterinary Clinic taking advantage of its available resources and having an area of didactic work in which research projects can be executed scientific benefitting the university community, always taking into account biosafety standards and proper health management by future professionals.
