Estudio de pre-factibilidad para implementar un cultivo de ostras (Crassostrea gigas) en fase de engorde

Abstract

This project is a pre-feasibility study for the implementation of an oyster culture (Crassostrea gigas) in the growing phase, which wants to show the system as a business alternative for the communities of the canton Sucre and surrounding communities. The project details a technical study with information suitable for implementation, crop production and appropriate management. Also an economic study with the budgets for the implementation is detailed. Finally, a financial evaluation is carried out to determine if the cultivation system is feasible or not, it was necessary to perform a series of calculations, such as PE (Balance Point), NAV (Net Real Value), Internal Rate of Return ), The Cost / Benefit index, etc., which reflect the percentage of profit or the amount of money that are obtained by the investment that will be made. Favorable results were obtained in the financial evaluation, where the NPV is USD 336,625.57 and the IRR is 79.06%. In the analysis of financial sensitivity, it is confirmed that, even if the sale price of the oysters reduces to 30%, or if the operational costs up to 50%, the NPV and the IRR remain positive. With which, the final conclusion of the economic study is that the project is more sensible the changes produced in the reduction of the price of the final product by 30% than the increase in price in costs and expenditure of 50%
