Abstract

The objective of this work is to advise the implementation of the drinking water system, in the Pig Farm, of the Experimental Center #2, of Veterinary Medicine, of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the Technical University of Manabí, under the modality of community development. A water system was implemented through the construction of a basic reservoir for permanent water supply, with a cement base 60cm high and 2.50m2 wide, a metal structure 4.40m long by 2.50m2 wide. wide at the base, and at the top 1.60m by 1.40m. In addition, a plastic tank with a capacity of 1,100 liters, Rotoplas brand, was incorporated, which passes through a filter at the tank outlet, through a purifier. In it, a Pedrollo PH60 1/2HP 110V pump was added, a P/Total 22 PSI 1100w pressure regulator and internal pipes were placed in the maternity area, to complete the water distribution system, which had yet to be finished. Regarding the work carried out, it is concluded that the implemented system allows the distribution of water by gravity, to the external and internal part of the farm, allowing the constant storage and distribution of the vital liquid. Counting on the expected functionality, tending a reservoir with all the technical details specified for its construction. Finally, as recommendations, it is proposed to develop the adequate maintenance of the drinking water system, to avoid the deterioration of the equipment and implements acquired, as well as the verification of the filling of the tank, to maintain the liquid at the correct levels.
