Abstract
The social audit is a process that requires information and citizen awareness, hence the objective does not only mean to fully comply with the contractual obligations and the use of the allocated funds, but also to go beyond its fulfillment of the proposed purpose, that is, evaluate the impact and social consequences caused by the activities and practices developed in the direct, indirect and environmental beneficiaries; also determine the effectiveness and efficiency and the procedures. Due to the above, the realization of this type of audit enriches the institutional image and contributes to give reliability to the
different entities in charge of providing assistance to society, as is the case of the Autonomous Decentralized Cantonal Governments, which sometimes carry out these activities through of public companies such as PORTOPARQUES EP, in order to verify that all projects were carried out with transparency and framed in a common purpose. For this reason, the research is based on a theoretical analysis of the existing concepts and then through techniques such as surveys to determine the extent to which the two emblematic projects of the company PORTOPARQUES EP, have contributed to improving the quality of life of the inhabitants. and citizenship in general without leaving aside the internal procedures of the company. Finally, the results were confirmed in the confirmation of the hypothesis that the application of the social audit becomes a useful tool in the measurement and evaluation of the benefits derived from the projects executed by the public company PORTOPARQUES.

La auditoría social es un proceso que requiere de información y conciencia ciudadana, de ahí que el objetivo no significa solamente cumplir plenamente las obligaciones contractuales y del uso de los fondos asignados, sino también ir más allá de su cumplimiento del fin propuesto, es decir, evaluar el impacto y las consecuencias sociales que provocan las actividades y prácticas desarrolladas en los beneficiarios directos, indirectos y el entorno.; así también determinar la efectividad y eficiencia y de los procedimientos. Por lo anterior la realización de este tipo de auditoria enriquece la imagen institucional y contribuyen a dar confiabilidad a los diferentes entidades encargadas de brindar atención a la sociedad como lo es el caso de los Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados Cantonales, que en ocasiones realizan estas actividades por medio de empresas públicas como PORTOPARQUES E.P., con la finalidad de verificar que se realizaron todos los proyectos con transparencia y enmarcados en un fin común. Por este motivo la investigación realizado parte de un análisis teórico de los conceptos existentes para luego a través de técnicas como la encuestas determinar en qué medida los dos proyectos emblemáticos de la empresa PORTOPARQUES E.P., han contribuido a mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes usuarios y ciudadanía en general sin dejar de lado los procedimientos internos de la empresa. Finalmente los resultados se concretaron en la confirmación de la hipótesis de que la aplicación de la auditoria social se convierte en una herramienta útil en la medición y evaluación de los beneficios derivados de los proyectos ejecutados por la empresa pública PORTOPARQUES.
