Abstract

The Technical University of Manabí (UTM) was created by Legislative Decree on October 29, 1952 and began operating on June 25, 1954, 60 years ago, with the schools of Agricultural Engineering and Veterinary Medicine, in a classroom with barely 18 students and 6 teachers. Currently this Higher Education Institution has 10 faculties: Administrative and Economic Sciences, Health Sciences, Humanistic Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Chemistry, Veterinary Sciences, Zootechnical Sciences, Philosophy, Letters and Educational Sciences, Engineering Agricultural and Agronomic Engineering and 37 careers. The Technical University of Manabí consists of a large space conducive to learning and you can notice its great facilities and infrastructure, according to the requests of SENESCYT, this is because there has been a process of improvements in which the various areas have been conditioned. such as laboratories, offices, library, green areas and others to ensure that our university is positioned within educational institutions with great prestige at the national level. For this reason, the idea of ​​the Remodeling of the area used for the historical archive of the Technical University of Manabí was born; which is located within the building of the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Chemical Sciences of the Technical University of Manabí. As part of a remodeling process, the adaptation of a part of the old library of the Technical University of Manabí was taken into account, for which it would be necessary to illuminate, provide conditioning and the corresponding security that needs to be given to a large space. importance as one destined for the Historical Archive would be.
