dc.description.abstract This research was carried out in Chibunga, Parish, Chone City, province of Manabí. The trial was aimed to evaluate the use of corn grain (zea Mayz) in feeding weaned calves and their effect on the parameters produced; two treatments were used and control group each with six replicates named treatments T2 and T3 included in the concentrate (zea Mays) beans and ground respectively, while the witness named T1 was fed on grass. 18 calves (15 males and 3 females) were used from two months of crossbred races (Boss Taurus x Boss Indicus) these ones were randomly assigned to 3 treatments with 6 replicates. Should be noted that all treatments were handled on an equal footing. These were the results; weight gain between treatment was significant (p<0,05) the average weight gain in corn diets were equal T2 (26,52Kg), T3(26,14Kg), but statistically superior to treatment with grass (1,89Kg), although the average consumption of the MS detected no significant differences between treatments (p<0,05), T1(89,73Kg), T2 (98,98Kg) and T3(108,76Kg). Feed conversion in detected significant differences between treatments (p<0,05) being the best conversion for T2 and T3 treatments (4,36 and 4,49) and for T1 (79,59) digestibility of corn grain was optima because by not screening the presence of grains was determined in the faces of treatments 2 and improved profitability in the treatments they received in their feed was obtained corn. In conclusion corn (zea Mays) in grain included in the diet of crossbred calves weaned improve their growth performance and metabolic behavior besides reduced the cost of production compared to the use of ground corn, although not significantly (p≤0,05) confirming the hypothesis raised in. es_ES
