| dc.description | The objective of this work was to determine the functions performed by the clinical psychologist in the area of health. An updated bibliographic review was carried out, as well as a survey applied to clinical psychologists working in certain public health institutions in District 01 of the public sector of the city of Portoviejo, Ecuador, and to graduates of the Clinical Psychology degree from the Technical University of Manabí. The information obtained was relevant, allowing to verify that the professionals in Psychology know and perform their functions efficiently in this field, intervening mainly in functions related to the treatment and to a lesser extent the research; In terms of demand, a small number of professionals in this area are evidenced for the population of the community of Portoviejo and the activities of higher performance are related to the treatment of patients. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo de este trabajo consistiò en determinar las funciones que realiza el psicólogo clínico en el área de la salud. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica actualizada, así como encuesta aplicada a los psicólogos clínicos que laboran en determinadas instituciones de salud del Distrito 01 del sector público de la ciudad de Portoviejo- Ecuador y a egresados de la carrera de Psicología Clínica de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí. La información obtenida fue relevante, permitiendo constatar que los profesionales en Psicología conocen y desempeñan sus funciones de manera eficiente en este campo, interviniendo mayormente en funciones relacionadas con el tratamiento y en menor escala la investigación; en cuanto a la demanda se evidencia un número reducido de profesionales de esta área para la población de la comunidad portovejense y las actividades de mayor desempeño están relacionadas al tratamiento de pacientes. | es_ES |
