Abstract
En el presente trabajo de investigación denominado “ESTUDIO SOBRE LAS
SOLICITACIONES DE TRÀFICO DE VEHÍCULOS PESADOS EN LAS
CARRETERAS DE INGRESO A LA CIUDAD DE PORTOVIEJO”, haciendo referencia
a el trafico vehicular producido en la cuidad de Portoviejo en las vías (Manta – Portoviejo;
Crucita - Portoviejo; San Placido - Portoviejo y Santa Ana – Portoviejo).
En el diseño de vias, es de gran importancia una correcta determinación de las
características del tránsito vehicular para asegurar un óptimo funcionamiento durante el
período de vida útil estipulado en dicho diseño.
En el trabajo de investigación se determinarán las cargas y características en las
carreteras principales que dan acceso a la ciudad de Portoviejo, utilizando un método
indirecto en las medidas de cargas.
Se tomarán muestras de vehículos pesados en diferentes carreteras que dan acceso
al cantón, adquiriendo como información las siluetas y un estimado de las cargas de
camiones que circulan. Un procedimiento estadístico de esta información permitirá estimar
los espectros de cargas y con ello las cargas y características de cada una de las carreteras
a estudiarse.
En el diseño de pavimentos el conocimiento del tráfico es una de los factores más
importantes, y su determinación posibilita la realización de diseños más racionales.

In the present work of investigation denominated “STUDY ON THE REQUESTS
FOR THE TRAFFIC OF HEAVY VEHICLES ON THE ROADS OF ENTRANCE TO
THE CITY OF PORTOVIEJO ", Making reference to the vehicular traffic produced in the
city of Portoviejo in the tracks (Manta - Portoviejo, Crucita - Portoviejo, San Placido -
Portoviejo and Santa Ana - Portoviejo).
In the design of roads, it is of great importance a correct determination of the
characteristics of the vehicular traffic to ensure an optimal operation during the period of
useful life stipulated in said design.
In the research work will determine the loads and characteristics in the main roads that give
access to the city of Portoviejo, using an indirect method in the load measurements.
