INTERVENCIÓN EDUCATIVA PARA PREVENIR ENFERMEDAD DE CHAGAS EN INTEGRANTES DE LA ASOCIACIÓN 5 DE JUNIO. EL CADY, PORTOVIEJO

Abstract

Chagas disease, known as American trypanosomiasis, is characterized by a chronic systemic parasitosis transmitted by Trypanosoma cruzi, endemic in regions of Latin America. Migratory flows are because of its expansion in areas where it was previously unknown, while its transmission is vectorial. For this reason, a research of type action and participation was carried out with the aim of contributing to the prevention of Chagas disease through an educational plan for the members of the 5 de june association at the "El Cady" site in the Portoviejo city, Manabi province. The technique of key informants has been used, through which a semi-structured survey was applied, modified from the theoretical references studied related to the research topic. The work was divided into 3 stages: stage 1, the meeting was held with the directors of 5 de June association; stage 2, the educational intervention was planned and stage 3, an evaluation of the educational intervention was carried out. The beneficiary population is made up of the members of 5 de June association, who were trained on Chagas disease. As a result, it was obtained the participation of the members of 5 de June association.
