dc.description Maintaining a good job performance has been one of the great challenges that the secretaries working for several years in different companies have had to face. The article aims to determine the current situation of professional development of secretaries working in public and private companies in the city of Portoviejo. The research is quantitative, a survey was applied to 60 female employees with different professional titles, who serve as secretaries in these institutions of Portoviejo; as a result, it is demonstrated that these employees have overcome the weaknesses of their training in different areas to the functions they perform, thus supporting the strengthening of organizational goals. This work evidences that the training of the personnel of a company of any type constitutes a key element in the professional and organizational development. es_ES
dc.description.abstract Mantener un buen desempeño laboral ha sido uno de los grandes retos que las secretarias que trabajan desde hace varios años en las diferentes empresas han tenido que enfrentar. El artículo tiene como objetivo determinar la situación actual del desarrollo profesional de las secretarias que laboran en las empresas públicas y privadas del cantón Portoviejo. La investigación es cuantitativa, se aplicó una encuesta a 60 funcionarias con diferente título profesional, que se desempeñan como secretarias en estas instituciones de Portoviejo; como resultado se demuestra que estas servidoras han superado las debilidades de su formación en áreas diferentes a las funciones que desempeñan apoyando así el fortalecimiento de las metas organizacionales. Este trabajo evidencia que la capacitación del personal de una empresa de cualquier tipo se constituye en un elemento clave en el desarrollo profesional y organizacional. es_ES
