LOS ESTILOS DE CRIANZA Y SU INCIDENCIA EN LA SATISFACCIÓN FAMILIAR EN FAMILIAS DE LA CIUDAD DE PORTOVIEJO EN EL AÑO 2017

Abstract

In this article we have analyzed the styles of parenting and how they relate to family satisfaction. It is said that the styles of parenting are three: authoritarian style where parents impose their authority without option to replicate; style with authority in which parents have the authority and exercise but give children the opportunity to understand and reason the orders and rules and the permissive style in which it is the children who exercise control and not the parents and do not exist limits. For this study 30 families belonging to the citadel were considered the Bosques de Portoviejo, of different socio-economic level, marital status, level of schooling and number of children. The method used was correlational, transversal and quantitative. The instruments used were the parental questionnaire (PCRI) which consists of 78 questions that are divided into 8 scales: support, satisfaction with parenting, commitment, communication, discipline, autonomy, role distribution and social desirability. In each scale we found that the questions also show the parenting styles used by the parents and a survey was also used to understand the family satisfaction in each of the scenarios. It has been seen that children who are raised by authoritative parents are the most independent, adaptable and sociable, children raised by authoritarian parents are timid, insecure, dependent children and tend to rebel. And children raised by permissive parents are impulsive, anxious children and those who find it difficult to follow the rules. It was found that the democratic style of parenting is that which is related to higher levels of family satisfaction, followed by the authoritarian style. The style that generated the least satisfaction was the permissive one.
