CONSUMO DE COCAÍNA Y LOS RASGOS DE PERSONALIDAD DE LOS INTERNOS DEL CENTRO DE REHABILITACIÓN “EL AMANECER DE LA ESPERANZA”, 2019.

Abstract

The abuse of substances such as cocaine can alter the psychic activity of the person and can significantly deteriorate their life since it is a highly addictive drug that affects neurotransmitters such as dopamine. This study aims to determine the incidence of cocaine use in the personality traits of the inmates of the rehabilitation clinic “Dawn of Hope” in the city of Portoviejo. The methodology applied is descriptive, cross-sectional; Due to the nature of the data, it is Qualitative-Quantitative, not experimental, based on deductive, inductive and bibliographic methods. The population considered corresponds to 16 inmates of the clinic “Dawn of Hope” to those who underwent the alcohol, tobacco and substance consumption test (ASSIST), to define the sample equivalent to 13 cocaine users. An interview was conducted with a family member of each inmate to inquire about personality traits. Likewise, the test of (PAI) Inventory of Personality Evaluation of Leslie C, Morey, was applied to identify the types of personality traits of individuals and analyze the possible involvement of cocaine users. The results revealed that 77% of inmates have antisocial characteristics, suicidal ideation 69%, bordeline 38% and paranoia 39%. Antisocial features, these data redirect us to the need to continue investigating in this aspect in order to delineate strategies to focus on designing new treatment plans for people with PD with substance use.
