PREVALENCIA Y CARACTERISTICAS DEL CONSUMO DE SUSTANCIAS PSICOACTIVAS LÍCITAS EN ESTUDIANTES DE COLEGIOS NOCTURNOS FISCALES DEL AREA URBANA. PORTOVIEJO, 2005

Abstract

The psicoactic consumption constitutes a very discussed and documented social problem that has been increased according to the last available studies, especially in young population; among the groups of more interest the students of secondary education are. With the objective of determining the prevalence and characteristic of the consumption of substances licit psicoactic in the students of schools night district attorneys of the urban area of the city of Portoviejo in the 2005. He/she was not carried out a study experimental, descriptive traverse. The universe was constituted by 565 students that were registered in the academic period of the 2005-2006, being obtained a sample of 127 students with the method simple random probabilístic for conglomerate. Among the most outstanding results it was obtained that the prevalence of consumption of tobacco was of 40%, being bigger in the school Velasco Ibarra, in the group of 17-19 year-old age, in the masculine gender, in the the 5° year-old students, having as prevalencia of life among the 14-16 years. In relation to the consumption of alcohol the prevalence that was obtained was of 72%, being bigger in the school Velasco Ibarra, in the 17-19 year-old group, being bigger in the feminine gender, in the 5° year-old students, having as prevalence of life among the 14-16 years. Among the factors of family and social risk the one that more he/she was related it is the grade of the father's instruction and worker's occupation, getting the attention that in the mother the instruction level was bigger in the secondary and the superior level.
