This work consists of a hydrological study of two watersheds of the Universidad
Técnica de Manabí, to mitigate the damages caused to Facultad de Ciencias
Matemáticas, Físicas y Matemáticas in winter.
The estimate of peak flows was performed using the method of rational calculation for
return periods of 5, 10 and 25 years in the two watersheds.
An analysis was performed and it was determined using the estimated maximum flow
for a return period of 10 years for the design of a channel with their respective hydraulic
and structural design, in order to analyze and determine which alternative design has
more advantages by a relationship between economics, security and sustainability.
Qualification working in this building a channel that captures surface runoff arises and
directs a sand trap that exists in the area, for which we present two design alternatives,
which are detailed below
