ItemLas comisiones cobradas por las empresas emisoras de tarjetas de crédito y su influencia en el proceso de venta de los establecimientos afiliados de la ciudad de Portoviejo. Periodo 2007(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2008) Sanchez Rodriguez, Tania Vanessa ; Sanchez Rodríguez, Ivonne Alexandra ; Villamar de Conforme, MagdalenaCredit card consumption has increased over time; therefore, those stores or establishments that do not want to stop selling must join the different brands (Visa, Mastercard, American, Diners) through the different issuing banks. When accepting credit cards for sales, stores almost always charge a value (Percentage) in relation to the cash price. However, the customer, due to their lack of knowledge of the process and the ease of payment, almost never complains. This circumstance is due to the fact that in the affiliation contract between the bank and the establishment, a percentage of commission is charged, which is calculated from the gross value of sales; thus, the profit of the establishment would be reduced. It should be noted that once the purchase has been made, the establishment issues a voucher and deposits it in the bank. The latter cancels the payment almost immediately to the commercial establishment, and the debt remains between the bank and the customer, so it is fair that the establishment pays a commission. This anomaly occurs more than anything in small establishments, since they are discounted higher percentages in relation to large businesses, because the percentage depends on the volume of sales of each establishment. This is why the greatest complaints are from the side of small establishments; who consider this situation unfair. The most worrying thing is that no authority or organization makes any decision regarding the issue. It should be noted that there are certain legal frameworks that try to avoid this inconvenience. Laws such as consumer protection, and the same affiliation contract between the bank and the establishment, should be basic to defend the interests of the clients. Finally, the hypothesis was confirmed and commissions do have a significant influence on the sales process of affiliated establishments through the credit card system. Facts confirmed in the real cases presented and in the surveys.
