THE LEMON CROP [CITRUS × AURANTIIFOLIA (CHRISTM.) SWINGLE] IS ONE OF THE MOST CULTIVATED CITRUS FRUITS IN THE COUNTRY DUE TO ITS HIGH DEMAND AND SOURCE OF INCOME IN ITS MAIN REGIONS WHERE IT IS GROWN. LIKE ALL CROPS, IT IS AFFECTED BY VARIOUS FACTORS, SPECIFICALLY INCLUDING MITES. THERE IS A FAMILY THAT DIRECTLY DAMAGES ITS PRODUCTION, BUT IN OUR COUNTRY THE RELATED INFORMATION IS SCARCE, FOR THESE REASONS IT WAS PROPOSED TO DETERMINE THE PRESENCE OF MITES OF THE TENUIPALPIDAE FAMILY IN THE CULTIVATION OF SUBTLE LEMON IN THREE PROVINCES OF THE ECUADORIAN COAST, BEING MANABÍ, SANTA ELENA AND ESMERALDAS. THIS RESEARCH WAS CARRIED OUT IN TWO PHASES, BOTH IN THE FIELD AND IN THE LABORATORY. THE FIELD PHASE CONSISTED OF MAKING TWO COLLECTIONS BY PROVINCES, IN THE DRY AND RAINY SEASON, SAMPLING LEAVES, BRANCHES AND FRUITS, WHICH WERE CONSERVED IN THE OUDEMANS ENVIRONMENT. ONCE THE FIELD SAMPLES WERE OBTAINED, THEY WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE LABORATORY WHERE THEY WERE FILTERED AND THUS CARRIED OUT THE RESPECTIVE TAXONOMIC IDENTIFICATION OF THE SPECIES FOUND.
