Through the thesis entitled study and design of the El Corozo – El Cerezo road, a study was developed that meets one of the primary needs of this parish, since it is an area of great agricultural importance for the canton and does not have an adequate access road for the transportation of people and the products that are harvested in this community. It is an honor for me as a graduate of the civil engineering school, to contribute with the knowledge acquired in the classrooms of our prestigious institution in favor of this agro-cultural venue, carrying out the study and design of this route to manage it with the help of the authorities. of the provincial government of Manabi the future execution of this project. In this work, a traffic study was carried out to determine the thickness of the layers of the asphalt structure, and then proceed to take soil samples to take them to the geotechnics laboratory of the faculty of mathematical, physical and chemical sciences, in order to classify the existing natural soil and determine its bearing capacity for carry out the necessary improvements, in addition to a complete topographic study and a structural and geometric design suitable for this type of road. In this thesis, the knowledge provided by the teachers of our faculty was applied under the guidance and supervision of the thesis director and the members of the qualification panel, based on the standards and statutes for road design provided by the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works.
