    The modern educational system, and in particular higher education, is faced with the challenge of training highly skilled people with mental flexibility required to adapt to the changes caused by the introduction of technologies and the information society. In the first part of the detailed find basic background as the name, the macro and micro localization, and identification foundation diagnose the problem to develop and complement the objectives are those governing the conduct of research. Then we started to give life to the frame of reference where we will focus on all aspects on the covers, their advantages and disadvantages, types, usage, applications, benefits and elements. Also know the rules to follow in assembling metal roofs. Know about metal structures application methods, the use and the types of calculations, we focus on design methods common in our environment which are the allowable stress design (ASD) and Design for Load and Resistance Factors (LRFD). In the last part of the thesis, based on the above there was a technical report on how the modules analyzed and designed the structure of the central library Manabi Technical College through the use of SAP 2000 using the methods already mentioned. It also presents some conclusions and recommendations derived from the development of this project to title, bibliography and appendices used.
