    Caracterización de la pesca artesanal de las corvinillas, 0phioscion scierus en el sector Mauricio de la Parroquia Leónidas Plaza, provincia de Manabí, durante los meses de octubre a diciembre del 2015

    This research included analysis of artisanal fisheries “corvinillas” of the genre Ophioscion in the estuary of the River Chone , Mauritius Parish sector Leonidas Plaza province of Manabi. The fish samples were taken in the coves of landing located in Leonidas Plaza and at Km .8 during the months of October to December 2015. A total of 1849 organisms from the catch taken on board the canoes to paddle registered. The "effort" was determined, considered here as the time spent on the fishing trip , besides the volume and composition of catch expressed by size ; and catch per unit effort. In the catch composition of organisms by size predominated the median with an average weight of 172.2 g. to 43.1 % followed by small with an average weight of 104.3 g. to 29.3 % and to a lesser extent the large size with an average of 326 g. At 27.6 % Total catch volumes registered reached the corvinillas 793.66 pounds . Both the volume of fishing , such as catch per unit effort (cpue) was higher in Leonidas Plaza ( p value > 0,05 ). A socio – economic study was conducted, and found that of those surveyed fishermen only 70 % havea level of primary education and only 30 % attended high. Regarding the marketing in Leonidas Plaza, the product was delivered to resellers and at km. 8 was sold at the neighborhood at a higher price, so the income of fishermen at Leonidas Plaza is lower in relation to the km. 8.
