Período 2002‐2006(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2008) Castro Tuárez, Gladys Beatríz ; Moreano Castillo, Rene Mauricio ; Aray de Guerrero, TitaThe products herbalists are more and more popular in the Ecuador that has grown annually between 10 and 20% in the last years. To consume medicines of natural origin is a component in the appearance of new alternative tendencies of health. According to the OMS, the use of remedies herbalists is impelling a market in around 60 trillion annual dollars. The dear quantity of medicinal and aromatic species in the national market is of around 250 species among which are evidenced as active ingredients to well‐known vegetables as the Dulcamara, Noni, Ginseng, Sábila, Stevia, Lecitina, Copaiba, Linseed, Aromatic and medicinal Grasses. Among the products herbalists that have bigger commercial welcome in Manabí, they meet the capsules of Noni Garden with 11,23%, continuing with this tendency the Noni is & Linseed with 10,15% of commercial participation; on the other hand products herbalists like, cream liporeductora elaborated with the help of marine algae, the Shampoo Noni, Syrup and soap of Dulcamara. Depending on their use, the plants are transformed in the laboratories and existent companies in the country like Andean, Natural Extracts Garden, Erbigeren, Nobis CORP., Herbalists C.Ltda. These products are marketed in drugstores, pharmacies, supermarkets and individual suppliers, depending on the place and the users' requirement. Under the denomination of the syrups of products herbalists they reported a commercial participation that maintained a range between 13,67% and 15,67% with regard to the period 2002‐2006, that which evidenced a turnaround in their participation and commercial acceptance in Manabí. In presentation in containers of 100, 300, 500, 750 and low ml the container modality established a participation that oscillated between 26,71 and 37,61%, that which to that the demand overcame to the offer in the given local market the great effectiveness of these products and for its prices that are low in reference to the conventional ones. In the presentation modality for pills the understood range was given between 17,89 and 23,61% for the years 2002 and 2003 registering, however in the year 2006 an equivalent participation to 19,34%, that which evidenced a negative variation that was given by the buyers. The commercial participation of the herbalists in the denomination of creams, gel and soaps, this it presented a decrease in their participation with spending of the years, registering in the 2002 36,01% while in the 2006 it was of 27,38%. Inside the structure of commercialization of the herbalists, in Manabí this activity composes it operative units that occupy 28% in the rural area, as long as at managerial level it represents 62%, for what is an activity that has generated beneficial rates of marginal returns to producers, managers and users. In the national environment, the commercialization system, is sectorizado in big managers (41%), medium managers (23%) and small managers (36%) and he/she makes it to him with the help of a control and normatividad to the products herbalists. The presence of this non traditional activity has impacted, allowing that the companies increase the number of qualified and not qualified manpower, corresponding him the biggest percentage to that of masculine sex with 72,00% while 28,00 remaining% covers it the feminine sector.
