ItemEstudio de las propiedades mecánicas y cristalinas de la aleación Cu–Al obtenida en el laboratorio de fundición(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2023) Ajila Ávila, Ronny Xavier ; Quirola Frank, David Alexander ; Arteaga Linzan, Ángel RafaelThe study of the mechanical and crystalline properties of the Cu-Al alloy has its connotation in the importance with in the advances and applications of the industry in terms of the manufacture of mechanical and structural components that provide high resistance, have good malleability and are resistant to corrosion, being a topic of great interest for the advancement of the industry, be it aerospace, maritime or automotive. The objective of this thesis will be aligned with the assessment and study of the mechanical and crystalline properties of the Cu-Al alloy based on the ASTM E8 standards. The development begins with the process of casting the specimens, their respective machining, tensile and hardness tests to then give a metallographic analysis by chemical attack and after this to observe the microstructure through the microscope. The research was developed in an integrated way with the help of methods such as bibliographic analysis, the methodology intervened at each stage within the experimental development process, the analysis and recommendation based on the data obtained by the trials obtained, where the different variables with their specific values are reflected through tables and graphs. The appendices also show the processes prior to obtaining and polishing the specimens. As a result of the study and direct observation, it was obtained that it is important to carry out several test to determine an approximate average of resistance in terms of mechanical properties and the microstructure presents favorable changes to be implemented in industrial works. The concentration percentages used were 5% and 10% and as a conclusion, the above allows a good tolerance to tensile and compression, as well as a correct microstructure product of the Cu-Al alloy.
