Within the renewable energy sources, photovoltaic energy stands out, this is characterized by the direct conversion of solar radiation into electrical energy through photovoltaic cells. This research consists of a feasibility study, with a quantitative, non-experimental approach. For this, bibliographic or documentary and field research was used, the method used is hypothetical-deductive. The techniques used are the survey, the interview and the analysis of data by observation. It was verified that the implementation of an autonomous station through a photovoltaic system is feasible, which will allow charging cell phones and computers at the Technical University of Manabí. When conducting the survey, it was found that 76% of the respondents are According to the fact that the Technical University of Portoviejo provides facilities for students to propose alternative sources of energy, likewise in the interview it was found that the university is currently working with energy reduction programs, thus demonstrating the importance of energy renewable. The socio-environmental perception of the community of students and collaborators of the Technical University of Manabí is positive, this is reflected in the fact that 76% determine that the Technical University of Manabí should have facilities that allow proposing alternative sources of Likewise, 72% consider that this type of energy source would provide a decrease in electricity consumption. The energy and technical-economic analysis of the autonomous photovoltaic charging station has shown that it is positive to guarantee a substitution for the energy charge of certain mobile devices, among which computers and cell phones stand out, a single panel has an efficiency of 16.18%.
