    The main objective of this community work was to implement ruminal cannulas through the ruminal fistulation to two animals of the Veterinary Science faculty of the Technical University of Manabí as basic tools of research in digestibility "in situ" and strengthening the nutrition department and pasture and forage in which started buying cannulas equipment and nylon bags to the company ANKON TECHNOLOGIES (USA). Once acquired these equipment proceeded to the selection of candidate animals for surgical placement of ruminal cannulas, the criterion for this selection was that the animals are in full rumen fill capacity with corresponding ages between 1 and 5 years. Once the animals recovered satisfactorily from post- surgical proceeded to perform the digestibility protocol "in situ" previous to a adaptation period of one week to pasture King Grass Purple to the animals, during this time it was availed to collect samples of the pasture and subsequent processed and analysis in the laboratory of bromatology. The bags nylon sample inside were deposited in the rumen of the animal through the rumen cannula by incubation periods of 24 and 48 hours, after this period the contents of the bags was analyzed in the laboratory of food science and functionality and adaptability of animals for further testing in the area of nutrition and animal feed was found.
