dc.description Bacterial vaginosis is one of the most common vaginal infections in prenatal consultations. A cross - sectional retrospective study was carried out on 80 women of reproductive age in the “Unidad Médica del Seguro Social Campesino Rio Caña I, Cantón Santa Ana”, in the period from November 2016 to February 2017, with the intention of determining the knowledge and Health practices for Vaginosis prevention and from there to generate a socio-educational proposal that contributes to its decrease. Theoretical, empirical and mathematical methods were used. The variables: knowledge and health practices for the prevention of Vaginosis and women of reproductive age were analyzed. The results indicated that the most frequent causes of Vaginosis were: free union, level of basic schooling, sub-rural origin, self-medication, lack of knowledge about Vaginosis, poor practices of grooming of the genitals, early onset of sexual intercourse, do not go to the doctor in the presence of symptoms and not using the condom. This allowed the socio-educational proposal to be generated which is supported by current scientific and internal congruence and favors the process of preparing women to avoid bacterial vaginosis and its spread. es_ES
dc.description.abstract La Vaginosis bacteriana es una de las infecciones vaginales más frecuentes en las consultas prenatales. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo de tipo transversal, a 80 mujeres en edad reproductiva en la Unidad Médica del Seguro Social Campesino Rio Caña I, Cantón Santa Ana en el período comprendido de noviembre de 2016 a febrero de 2017, con la intención de determinar los conocimientos y prácticas de salud para prevención de Vaginosis y a partir de ahí generar una propuesta socioeducativa que contribuya a su disminución. Se emplearon métodos teóricos, empíricos y matemáticos. Se analizaron las variables: conocimientos y prácticas de salud para prevención de Vaginosis y mujeres en edad reproductiva. Los resultados precisaron que las causas más frecuentes de la Vaginosis la constituyeron: la unión libre, el nivel de escolaridad básico, procedencia sub-rural, la automedicación, desconocimiento sobre la Vaginosis, las malas prácticas de aseo de los genitales, inicio precoz de relaciones sexuales, no acudir al médico ante la presencia de síntomas y el no uso del condón. Esto permitió generar la propuesta socioeducativa la cual está sustentada en actualidad científica y congruencia interna y favorece el proceso de preparación de la mujer para evitar la Vaginosis bacteriana y su propagación. es_ES
