Abstract
With the objective to know the handling and complications colostomías in adults of the area of digestive surgery, an investigation of descriptive, retrospective type was made, was taken as population from study 51 patients taken care of in the Hospital Verdi Cevallos Shelf of Portoviejo of April of the 2004 - April of the 2006.
In order to collect the information a form was used in which all the data were registered that clinical history included and that were of interest for this investigation.
The most outstanding results were:The 19,6% were of 29-36 years. 61% of the masculine. 47% came from the rural area. 53% of the population presented/displayed normal weight.
In preoperating 96% prophylactic antibiotic was administered. In 98% operating nasogástrica sounding in the immediate one was used, in the 100% of the patients parenteral hidratación and sounds operating nasogástrica in the mediate one, 35% presented/displayed infiltrations, 72% the colostomía was temp, 51% was of derivation, 45% the anatomical location was in descendent colon, 51% the location of estoma was decided in the surgery, 51% was located in the left iliaca grave, in 35% was by traumatismo.
76% were handled by specialistic surgeon, in 100% the nurses gave to information to the patient on feeding and diet, in 100% is instructed to the relative of the patient on type of diet.
35% presented edema like immediate complication, 39% dermatitis like delayed complication.
Description
Con el objetivo de conocer el manejo y complicaciones de colostomías en adultos del área de cirugía digestiva, se realizó una investigación de tipo descriptivo,
retrospectivo, se tomó como población de estudio 51 pacientes atendidos en el Hospital Verdi Cevallos Balda de Portoviejo de abril del 2004 – abril del 2006.
Para recolectar la información se utilizó un formulario en el cual se registraron todos los datos que incluía la historia clínica y que eran de interés para esta investigación.
Los resultados más destacados fueron: El 19.6% fue de 29-36 años. 61% del género masculino. 47% provenían del área rural. El 53% de la población presentó peso normal.
En el preoperatorio 96% se administró antibiótico profiláctico. En el 98% se utilizó sonda nasogástrica en el operatorio inmediato, en el 100% de los pacientes hidratación parenteral y sonda nasogástrica en el operatorio mediato, 35% presentó infiltraciones, 72% la colostomía fue temporaria, 51% fue de derivación, 45% la localización anatómica fue en colon descendente, 51% la localización del estoma fue decidido en la cirugía, 51% se ubicó en la fosa iliaca izquierda, en el 35% fue por traumatismo.
El 76% fue manejado por cirujano especialista, en el 100% las enfermeras dieron información al paciente sobre alimentación y dieta, en el 100% se instruye al familiar del paciente sobre tipo de dieta.
El 35% presentó edema como complicación inmediata, 39% dermatitis como complicación tardía.
