Abstract
A descriptive retrospective study was carried out at the Sigrid Corazon de Jesus hospital during the months of July to September of the year 2016 with a population of 400 patients and a sample of 176 patients with the objective of evaluating the use of the Bishop index in The induction and conduction of labor in the obstetrical gynecology service in the Sacred Heart Hospital of Jesus where the following results were obtained, the evaluation of the bishop index was recorded in the clinical histories of the patients in whom it was required The intervention of labor, of 179 patients with intervention in labor, 23 had maternal complications being the most frequent postpartum hemorrhage, 7% of induction or conduction procedures failed and ended in cesarean.

Se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo retrospectivo, en el hospital Sagrado Corazón de Jesús durante los meses Julio a septiembre del año 2016 con una población universo de 400 pacientes y una muestra de 176 pacientes con el objetivo de la valorar el uso del índice Bishop en la inducción y conducción del trabajo de parto en el servicio de Gineco obstetricia en el Hospital sagrado Corazón de Jesús donde se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados se registraron en el 100 % la valoración del índice de Bishop en las historias clínicas de las pacientes en las que se requirió la intervención del trabajo de parto, de las 179 pacientes con intervención en el trabajo de parto, 23 tuvieron complicaciones maternas siendo la más frecuente la hemorragia postparto, el 7% de los procedimientos de inducción o conducción fracasaron y terminaron en cesárea.
