RESULTADOS DE LA ACTIVACIÓN DE LAS CLAVES MATERNAS DURANTE EL 2020. HOSPITAL DR. VERDI CEVALLOS BALDA

Abstract

The maternal keys are procedures in health care for the adequate management of the three main causes of serious maternal morbidity: hypertension, hemorrhage and sepsis; in puerperal and pregnant women at risk of maternal death. The objective of this study was to analyze the results of the activation of maternal cues at the Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda Hospital. The study was descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional. The population consisted of 145 patients for whom a maternal key was activated during 2020. We worked with the entire population that met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that during 2020 a total of 145 maternal keys were activated, 78.62% blue keys, 12.41% yellow keys and 8.97% red keys. 75.17% of the patients remained hospitalized between 1-3 days, with 60% requiring the activation of blue codes; 6.90% had fetal death, with the activation of 4.83% of blue keys, 1.38% of yellow keys and 0.69% of red keys; 8.97% were admitted to intensive care, of which 6.21% required activation of blue codes; 100% of the patients did not require transfer and were discharged alive from the hospital. It is concluded that the activation of maternal keys is mainly associated with preeclampsia, with favorable results expressed in the absence of maternal death during the study period.
