GESTIÓN DE LA CONSERVACIÓN DEL ARCHIVO ECLESIÁSTICO: CASO IGLESIA LA CATEDRAL DE LA CIUDAD DE PORTOVIEJO

Abstract

The present work deals with the problems of the Management of the Conservation of the Ecclesiastical Archives in the Church The Cathedral of the City of Portoviejo. In the research carried out, the subject matter is defined in depth and the main supports used are listed, since the preservation and preservation of any document must take into account the authenticity of the documents; As well as the integrity of the information. For this it was necessary a descriptive study, using the method of documentary analysis for the bibliographic revision and the historical-logical method for the exhibition of the contendidos. The results highlight the existence of risks related to the preservation of documents, taking into account the obsolescence and degradation of the media, the correctness and deficiencies detected in the physical state of the documentary collections that directly affect the progressive deterioration of the collection bibliographic. In conclusion, it is necessary to create national and international preservation policies and the cooperation of institutions and agents related to documents. They reflect the feasibility of this project to offer different preservation strategies such as the replacement of media, the migration of information to technology.
